In the double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study in healthy men (age 18-25) – a single 30 mg dose of Safr’Inside™ vs placebo vs synthetic safranal: Safr’Inside™ significantly delayed cortisol/cortisone peak times and reduced self-reported stress/anxiety.
Crocus sativus L. Versus Methylphenidate in Treatment of Children and Adolescents with ADHD (2018) – A randomized clinical trial that found saffron extract to have satisfactory outcomes compared with methylphenidate in children with ADHD.
Meta-analysis of saffron in mood disorders: A review covering saffron extract in various trials found significant protective effects in depression, some cognitive and metabolic disorders — showing saffron’s promise in neuro-emotional health.
Sleep study: In older adults (55-85) with sleep complaints, 30 mg/day of standardised saffron extract for 4 weeks improved subjective sleep quality (PSQI), improved sleep efficiency, reduced sleep latency, and modulated gut microbiota (e.g., ↑ Faecalibacterium, Lachnoclostridium) which correlated with improved sleep parameters.
Patent validation: The extract’s patent (EP3490575B1/WO2017EP69200) supports the unique extraction and standardisation of the saffron extract, underscoring its premium botanical status.
